Now, Jagex has laid out strategies to address the issue OSRS Gold. In a blog post, credited to "The RuneScape Team", the publisher states that "gold purchased through RWT is a major issue in any online game featuring the possibility of trading currency", and that although its "Anti-Cheating Team has done much in the fight against RWT sellers both in and out of the game" however, they will be taking more drastic measures with immediate start.
In a statement, Jagex claims to have the "growing team " and "improved technology", Jagex says it is no longer only focused on sellers of gold and other resources through RWT but as buyers. The aim is to limit the demand, as well as to limit the supply.
Jagex has announced that it will start sending "messages to players who we've identified as being involved within the RWT" within "the next few hours". "For anyone involved, we want to be clear - this is the single and only warning," the company added.
Other measures that the developer may consider as punishment for RWT actions are scheduled to consist of wealth removal - basically taking away gains made by accounts of players at the server level, as well as potential bans.
RuneScape's PvP feature, known as"the Duel Arena, will also have more strict rules enforced. Jagex affirms that the mode "has been a catalyst for this type of behavior", and that 38 percent of bans associated with RWT actions up to now originate from this aspect in the game. It states that it is already equivalent approximately "thousands of bans per month".
As a result, the developer seems to be considering the nuclear alternative Buy RuneScape Gold, saying "we're contemplating in the near future to phase in the Duel Arena out of RuneScape completely." In the meantime it will be implementing "some quick-term measures" to improve PvP "until our development teams can bring an important update that completely replaces the Duel Arena next year."
